DIY Bar Cart

The thing about DIYs is they’re fun to look at but decidedly less fun to do.

As a general rule, choosing to partake in a Pinterest special is usually a pretty big pain in the proverbial.

In fact, pinterestfail.com has got to be one of my favourite time wasters. It’s where fun stuff like this happens…

However, when that do-it-yourselfer involves me drinking involve alcohol at some point… well, suddenly I’m feeling a little more motivated.

Enter this delicious, delicious bar cart.

For starters, you only need FOUR THINGS. It’s like the craft version of that ridiculous cook book.

Secondly, I have been on the lookout for a bitchin’ bar cart for some time now and I keep coming up with squat. There’s all either too blokey or too lacking in personality.

This, however – well, this is the Goldilocks of bar carts. I want to give it my porridge and let it sleep in my bed. Which I’ll probably do after I drink all its contents.

But back to the DIY… ahem.

All you need to do is get yourself a teensy table – I quite like this one from IKEA.

Some spray or water-based craft paint – I recommend White Knight Splashes, mostly because it dries super quick and is easy to wash out of your hair (don’t ask me how I know that).

A vintage suitcase – eBay is probably your best bet for this.

And of course all the sweet, sweet alcohol you think you can handle.

And then, well – it’s so simple I can’t even really list the instructions. It’s more like a really, really short story.

Just paint your table – black is definitely the most epic choice – secure your suitcase to your table if you feel the need (double sided tape will do it) and you’re good to go.

It really is that easy. I’ll drink to that!
