DIY Guess Who Game
I hate it when people use the word literally erroneously.
You know what I mean…
I’m so full I’m literally going to explode. Or, he is literally the most annoying person in the world.
But if you have a friend’s birthday coming up, this is literally the best homemade present ever dreamed up, brought to you by Almost Makes Perfect.
I’ve been making poor man’s versions of this for years – using an actual Guess Who game board and just swapping out the pieces for photos of people I know. I find it’s a great gift for when someone’s in the hospital for a long period of time as not only is it an epic time waster, it’s hilarious when you get down to the nitty gritty of it.
“Tell me, do I… date men indiscriminately? Tend to throw up when you give me tequila? Once try to copy Justin Timberlake’s hairdo with disastrous results?!”
This is #nextlevel though. This is so epic no shiny store-bought copy could beat it.
I mean, I once made my best friend a Scrabble board from scratch for his 30th birthday – it took months and I’m certainly not claiming the entire thing isn’t precariously wonky – but there were no screws and hinges involved. I would have given up if I had to actually source a couple of dozen tiny toy-sized hinges.
This makes me want to try though. It really does. The cutesy bags, the Tiffany blue pieces, the sheer amount of hipster beards… it’s all too much.
You don’t even need an occasion, really – just enough photogenic friends or family to fill a board and a penchant for using a Stanley knife. I also wouldn’t mind seeing versions featuring celebrities, Australian politicians or comedians named Dave. The possibilities are endless.
